Education:
M.Sc. Mechanical Engineering, 2019

Current Position:
Project Engineer in Training at Kanin Energy

About Me:
I originally come from Colombia, and I came to Edmonton pursuing a Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduating, I worked some time as a research assistant at the University of Alberta in areas related to fluid dynamics and heat exchangers. At the beginning of 2021, I joined Kanin Energy as a project engineer in training where I am responsible for evaluating new waste heat to power projects and looking for emerging technology for carbon capture and waste heat utilization. Besides work,  I enjoy reading a good historical novel with a warm coffee by my side and my dogs by my feet. I love learning and trying new things, so I actively participate in leadership volunteering positions within the community. I spend a considerable part of my free time trying new abstract designs on my 3D printer and learning from my mistakes. I am passionate about ultimate frisbee where I play as a handler and love inventing new strategies or plays with my teammates.

Q: If you could instantly become an expert in something, what would it be?
A: I would become an expert on wood-crafting. I have always been impressed with the beautiful art pieces that you can create from wood, but I never really had the hand skills to be good at that.
